INTERMEDIATE ACTING

Sunday, August 29th to Sunday, October 17th, 10 – 11:30 am. Classes will meet weekly.

Students will apply character motivations to explore ways to approach a scene, focusing on Stanislavski’s seven questions as a basis for creating well rounded characters. Three of the main emphases of this course will be:

o Character Analysis

o Objectives and Intentions

o Environment and Movement

Requirements: Students are required to have taken an acting class. Ages 13-16.

Instructor: Lauren Velasco has been acting for over 16 years. She earned her master’s degree in Playwriting and Dramaturgy at the University of Glasgow. Lauren has worked as an actor, director, and dramaturg. A few notable roles she has played include Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cordelia in King Lear, Emmi in Taking Sides and Cheerleader in Bleacher Bums.
